Transitions

Add a transition at a cut, at the start, or at the end of the video.

A transition plays where one clip leaves and the next arrives. Split the recording first to make a cut.

  1. Select the clip after the cut.
  2. In the Clip settings, choose a Transition into this clip: Fade, Slide, Zoom, 3D Flip, 3D Tumble or 3D Cube.
  3. Set its Length, from 0.2 to 1.6 seconds. The default is 0.7.

Choosing one plays a preview from just before the cut. Click Preview to watch it again. With more than two clips, Use on Every Cut applies it to all of them.

Press T to add or remove a fade at the clip under the playhead. A small badge on the clip's left edge shows it has a transition.

Opening and ending

  • On the first clip, the same control is called Opening: the video arrives from your background.
  • On the last clip, Ending plays as the video finishes, leaving your background.
