Padding, corners and shadow

Set how your recording sits on its background.

The Background settings also shape the recording's frame:

  • Padding: the space between the recording and the edge of the video.
  • Rounded corners: how round the recording's corners are.
  • Inset: a border in the recording's own colour, inside the rounded frame. Useful when a window's edge would otherwise be cut by the corners.
  • Shadow: how strong the shadow under the recording is.

Advanced shadow settings

Under Shadow, click Advanced shadow settings to fine-tune it:

  • Directional shadow: casts the shadow at an angle, as if the recording were lit from one side. Off, it falls straight down.
  • Shadow distance: how far the shadow falls from the recording.
  • Shadow angle: which way a directional shadow falls. 90° is straight down, 0° to the right and 180° to the left.
  • Shadow blur: how soft the shadow's edge is.

The settings are saved with the project and in presets. They do nothing while Shadow is at 0.

Each slider shows its value and has Reset, which is greyed out while it's at the default.
